Ecklonia kelp flourishes on rocky reefs where the pristine, ice cold Benguela current is swept up from Antarctica.  The kelp fronds are constantly in motion, causing the kelp to grow rapidly. Ecklonia kelp has developed an extremely strong and rubbery cell structure, enabling it to thrive in the violent wave action present on this coastline. The strength of this unique marine plant is directly associated to the presence of high levels of organic gels contained within the kelp tissue. 

Fresh kelp fronds of Ecklonia maxima are hand selected and processed within hours after harvesting with a unique, ambient (room) temperature mechanical juicing process.
